Leggings

Sports leggings: fit, support and use

If you're looking for sports leggings for strength training, HIIT, or cardio, look for compression (light to firm), squat-resistant fabric, and chafe-free seams. If you'll be wearing them outside the gym as well, choose a breathable and quick-drying fabric. For support, pair them with matching sports bras and alternate with women's shorts on hot days.

High-waisted sports leggings: stability without pinching

A high waist stays in place better during jumps and deep squats. If you're specifically looking for high-waisted women's sports leggings or high-waisted sports leggings, look for a V-shaped waistband or silicone grip for extra support. Many brands also call these styles high-waisted sports leggings; they fall into the same category with added waistband height.

Yoga leggings: stretch and comfort

For yoga, you want soft, stretchy fabrics with a smooth interior. Yoga leggings should move with you without being see-through in forward bends and twist poses. After your studio session, a dry pair of socks will help prevent cooling.

Length, pockets and squat proof

Choose 7/8 for ankle freedom or full length for warmth outdoors. Thigh pockets are handy for your phone or cards; make sure they don't bounce around during box jumps. A simple squat-proof test: deep squat in daylight—if nothing shows through, you're good. Separate wet gear in your bags.

Materials and maintenance

Polyamide/elastane often offers the best mix of support and durability; polyester dries extra quickly. Wash inside out at a low temperature and avoid fabric softener—it can affect compression and color. Air dry to maintain elasticity.

Sports leggings frequently asked questions

Which length do I choose?

7/8 for mobility and cool ankles; full length for outdoors and cooler spaces.

Are all leggings squat-proof?

No. Choose a densely woven fabric and test in daylight. Dark colors mask more than light ones.

High waist of mid rise?

A high waist provides more stability during jumps and swinging movements. A mid-rise feels cooler and freer around the stomach.

I'm between sizes – what now?

For intense workouts: go smaller for more compression. For everyday wear and long sessions: go larger for comfort.
